Four Puma J aircraft were ferried from Spain and South Africa via Khartoum, to Sudan to provide support to the UN mission with operating bases across the entire country, including Malakal, Nyala, Al Fashir, Kadugli and Ed Damazin. All bases were self-sufficient, with Starlite providing all emergency medical services and onsite maintenance and logistics support to our aircraft.
The operation provided full Medevac and day/night emergency air support for UN staff deployed in Sudan. Specialist Night Vision Goggles (NVG) flying operations were used for night emergency operations. Flying hours were in excess of 1 500 hours for the eleven months that the contract lasted.
