Commercial Pilot Licence
A CPL qualifies a pilot to fly commercially for remuneration.
A Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) qualifies a pilot to carry passengers or cargo for remuneration. CPL course duration: Approximately 18 – 24 months. This may, however, vary for each individual student. We tailor the course to suit your lifestyle.
Commercial Pilot Licence Requirements
General Requirements
- 18 years of age before you can obtain your CPL
- Hold a valid Private Pilot Licence (PPL)
- Have a Night Rating (only for an Aeroplane CPL)
- Complete a total of 200 hours of flight time
- Hold a Class 1 Medical Certificate
- Meet the English Language Proficiency standards
Practical Requirements
- Minimum 100 hours as pilot in command.
- Minimum 5 hours as pilot in command night flying (only for an Aeroplane CPL).
- Minimum 20 hours cross country (only if you are completing a CPL without an Instrument Rating).
- Minimum 20 hours of instrument instruction time, not more than 10 hours may be completed in an approved simulator.
- Minimum 5 hours instruction in a complex aeroplane.
- Pass a practical skills flight test with a Designated Flight Examiner.
